From a five-month No. 1 chart run and a second MSN recognition to another chart-topping single and the cover of BLUR Magazine, Issue 289, Kaylene Peoples continues a remarkable period of creative achievement.
First Take PR celebrates the continuing achievements of multi-award-winning composer, recording artist, publisher, filmmaker, and entrepreneur Kaylene Peoples, whose recent milestones span music, publishing, entrepreneurship, and international media recognition.
Following her 2025 recognition as one of MSN’s Top 10 Trailblazing Entrepreneurs to Follow in 2025, Peoples entered 2026 with her original composition “Run Away with Me” continuing an extraordinary run at the top of the N1M 1000 Bossa-Nova chart in the United States. The song ultimately held the No. 1 position for five consecutive months, from September 2025 through February 2026, marking one of the most sustained chart achievements of Peoples’ recording career.
Written and produced by Peoples, “Run Away with Me” continues the jazz and Bossa-Nova foundation that has remained central to her work as a recording artist. The achievement followed the success of “Do You Remember?”, the first single from her debut jazz album All Jazzed Up!, which previously reached No. 1 on multiple independent music charts, including New Music Weekly, AC40, and the Indie 100.
The momentum continued when Peoples received her second recognition from MSN, this time being named among its Top 10 Inspiring Women Leaders of 2026. The recognition highlighted the multidisciplinary career that has defined Peoples’ professional life, encompassing music, publishing, film, fashion, and advocacy. Coming on the heels of her 2025 entrepreneurial recognition, the honor marked the second time in less than a year that Peoples had been recognized by MSN.
At the same time, Peoples continued expanding her work as founder of KL Publishing Group and founder and editor-in-chief of AGENDA, while maintaining an active career as a composer, recording artist, and flutist.
Then came another musical milestone.
Peoples’ interpretation of Antonio Carlos Jobim’s “Corcovado (Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars)” reached No. 1 in the United States and No. 2 globally on the N1M 1000 Bossa-Nova chart in July 2026. The achievement gave Peoples another No. 1 recording, joining “Run Away with Me” and “Do You Remember?” among her chart-topping songs.
“Corcovado” appears on Peoples’ album Romantic Bossa-Nova, a project that previously received international recognition as Album of the Week on Smooth FM in Portugal. Peoples performs the Jobim classic in Portuguese and English and is featured on vocals and flute. The album includes an accomplished ensemble of musicians, including Bunny Brunel on bass, Mahesh Balasooriya on piano, Rich Mouser on guitar, Monette Marino on percussion, and Bryan Cabrera on drums.
Peoples’ recent run of recognition has now extended beyond music and entrepreneurship to the international fashion and editorial arena. She appears on the cover of BLUR Magazine, Issue 289, adding another significant editorial achievement to an already eventful year.
The BLUR cover arrives during an especially active period for Peoples as both a creative artist and publisher.
